 Possibly  by Joseph Wilton (1722 - 1803).
Victoria and Albert Museum.





Design drawn in pen and ink and wash for the chimney-piece in the Library, Milton Abbey, Dorset. 

Inscribed with scale in feet and on the back 'Great Room below - 36. by 24. Not above five feet high, not much under' and signed with a monogram 'SP[?]'. Numbered '1'.

Height: 14.6 cm, Width: 19.1 cm

This drawing was part of Lot 196 at the sale of drawings from the collection of Sir Bruce Ingram, O.B.E., M.C., F.S.A., held at Messrs. Sotheby's, 21 October 1964.
